Frequently Asked Questions
Big Picture knows that unexpected financial burdens can be stressful. We have streamlined our process to make it easy for you to get your life back on track.
Info about our loans
Big Picture Loans offers consumer installment loans, which are also known as personal loans. An installment or personal loan is a loan that is repaid over time with a set number of scheduled payments. There are no penalties for paying your installment loan off early, and you can actually save on finance charges by doing so.
An Account Statement email is sent to every customer after each installment period. The Account Statement provides you with details about your account as of the closing date of your installment period (the Statement Date).
Once you have accepted the loan agreement terms you will not be able to increase the amount of your loan. If you successfully repay your loan you can log into “My Account” and apply for a new loan. Remember that our loans should be used for short-term financial needs only, not as a long-term financial solution.
Once you have accepted the loan agreement terms which includes your payment schedule, you will not be able to change the payment schedule in your loan agreement. However, if you experience financial difficulties while repaying your loan, please call us at 1.800.584.48801.800.584.4880 or email us at Support@bigpictureloans.com. We may have options available to help you during a financial hardship.
Possibly, you can request to change a payment date. To request a change to your payment date, please call us at 1.800.584.48801.800.584.4880 or email us at Support@bigpictureloans.com. We will evaluate your request and email you our decision. Please note that when a payment date is changed, the payment schedule in your loan agreement will remain the same and interest will continue to accrue on any unpaid principal balance. Your request to change your payment date should be received at least 3 days prior to your payment due date to ensure your payment request is processed.
You received a pre-approved offer of credit pursuant to Tribal law and the Fair Credit Reporting Act, also called the “FCRA.” The FCRA permits creditors like Big Picture Loans to obtain limited consumer report information for use in connection with unsolicited offers of credit under certain circumstances. This practice is known as “prescreening” and typically involves a credit reporting agency that generates a list of consumers who meet certain pre-established criteria for us to provide a “prescreened” or “pre-approved” offer of credit to you. This is known as a soft credit inquiry and will not impact your credit score. Please click on this link to learn more about the tribal lending laws: Tribal Consumer Financial Services Regulatory Code. Click on this link to learn more about the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Loan approval and amounts are based on minimum income amounts, other credit criteria, and verification of the information you provide during the application process.
If all the pertinent information is received by 5:00 p.m. CST and can be verified on Tribal land the same day, you will generally receive the funds via ACH as early as the next Business Day*.
You should expect to hear from Big Picture Loans within 15 minutes to one Business Day after you have submitted your application. Big Picture Loans will call or email you if additional information is required. You can expedite the process by calling us at 1.800.584.4880.
Big Picture Loans will verify your information on Tribal land and contact you by phone or email with its final loan decision.
You can only have one installment loan open at a time with Big Picture Loans. Once you've successfully repaid you loan you can log in to "My Account" and apply for a new one. For returning Big Picture Loans customers in good standing, the annual percentage rate ("APR") may be reduced on future loans. Please remember that our loans should be used for short-term financial needs only, not as a long-term financial solution. Individuals with credit difficulties should seek credit counseling.
After paying your loan in full, you may apply for a new loan. However, we cannot issue a new loan until the final payment from your previous loan clears with the bank, which usually takes 3-5 business days. Please call our Customer Service team at 1.800.584.4880 and we will setup a three-way call with your bank to confirm the payment cleared. Remember that our loans should be used for short-term financial needs only, not a long-term financial solution. Individuals with credit difficulties should seek credit counseling.

The Tribe has established a Tribal Dispute Resolution Procedure to review and consider any and all types of complaints made by or on behalf of consumers arising out of the operation of its consumer financial services business (“Business”). The Tribe values its customers and intends, at all times, to see that questions, concerns, issues, and/or complaints raised by consumer borrowers are addressed in a fair and orderly manner. The Tribal Dispute Resolution Procedure is found at Section 9 of the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians Tribal Consumer Financial Services Regulatory Code, a copy of which may be found at Tribal Consumer Financial Services Regulatory Code, or obtained upon request. The Tribe intends and requires, to the extent permitted by applicable law, for any complaint lodged, filed, or otherwise submitted by you or on your behalf to follow the Tribal Dispute Resolution Procedure. Under the Tribal Dispute Resolution Procedure, if you have already taken steps to resolve your complaint with the Business and you are dissatisfied with the determination of the Business, may seek administrative review of such decision by the Lac Vieux Desert Tribal Financial Services Regulatory Authority (“Authority”). You may seek such administrative review. You must make your administrative review request in writing to the Authority at P.O. Box 249, Watersmeet, MI 49969, within ninety (90) days after receiving the Business’s determination. The Authority will investigate the facts and circumstances surrounding your complaint and will grant you an opportunity to be heard either in person or by telephone within sixty (60) days after the Authority receives your written request. You will be provided notice of the date and time scheduled for your administrative review hearing by the Authority. You may be represented by legal counsel at your own expense. Within a reasonable time after an administrative review hearing the Authority shall issue a written decision and order regarding your complaint. You may then appeal an Authority decision and order by filing a written petition for review with the Tribal Court within ninety (90) days after the Authority issued its decision and order. Within a reasonable time after oral argument, the Tribal Court shall issue an opinion and order regarding your administrative appeal. All opinions and orders of the Tribal Court shall be final and not subject to appeal. Nothing within this Tribal Dispute Resolution Procedure shall be deemed or interpreted as a waiver of the sovereign immunity of the Tribe, or any wholly owned business entity operating as an economic arm of the Tribe, or any of their agents, principals, officers, employees or otherwise.
